Delays in premieres forced Marvel to correct movie and series timeline

Published

on

While the coronavirus pandemic ultimately affected the film industry’s plans in 2021, it looks like the effects of the premiere’s delays may still be a good thing, at least for Marvel Studios.

As fans are well aware, the studio’s films and series slated for this year have seen their release schedules altered several times.

However, that ended up correcting the Phase 04 timeline … As ‘Black Widow’ was due out in April, the events of the feature film would have implications for the plotline of ‘Falcão and the Winter Soldier’, already exhibited at Disney + and unrelated until the moment with Natasha’s film.

The delay of “ Black Widow ” forced Disney + to postpone the premiere of “ Falcão and the Winter Soldier ” and resort to covers, which was a very welcome strategy, as the launch of the series would eventually leave gaps in the plot, which will not be answered until after the premiere of the solo film with Scarlett Johansson.

In addition, the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly explains that certain changes were made to the plot of “WandaVision” due to the pandemic so that the episodes also fit the chronological continuity of Phase 04.

With the series directly linked to the events of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, Marvel Studios has taken care to avoid any errors in dates or details that could spoil its future productions.

Recalling that “The Eternals” and “Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings” will have narratives a little more independent and without major links with the chronology built so far.

Enjoy watching:

The first took place millennia ago until it reaches our days, and rumors indicate that the second will take place between the last five years between the snap of Thanos’ fingers and his defeat in “ Avengers: Game over ”.

So which of these productions are you most excited to watch?

Speaking of which, check out the new schedule for Marvel’s cinema and streaming premieres:

Falcon and the Winter Soldier – Disney +

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed the shield when he decided to go back in time to live a normal life alongside Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Now Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) will work together to solve the crimes and try to make up for Captain America’s absence.

Premiere date: already exhibited.

Loki – Disney +

Many’s favorite villain will also win a single-player adventure through the MCU’s timelines. Starring Tom Hiddleston and starring Owen Wilson, the series begins from this scene from Avengers: Endgame, in which Loki takes the Tesseract and escapes to find out where Heimdall is. The production will introduce TVA, a timeline-correcting organization, to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is expected to explore different eras and planets, including Asgard himself.

Release date: June 11, 2021.

Black Widow – Cinemas & Streaming

Scheduled to premiere in 2020, the Black Widow movie was due to be postponed until 2021 due to the plot. Now, the film will be released simultaneously in theaters and Disney +. Set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinite War, the film will delve into Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) past and put her face to face with Coach, a villain who copies other people’s skills with just one look.

Release date: July 9, 2021.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – Cinemas

Starring a predominantly Asian cast, the film will tell the story of Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), a hero who grew up in a temple in China, where he learned to have superhuman dominance over Chi. As well as being one of the greatest martial arts masters in the entire Marvel Universe. His hero name, in fact, is Master of Kung Fu. Inspired by Bruce Lee, the film version of the character will be the son of the real Mandarin (Tony Leung) and take on his own father on the big screen. Rumors say that some characters from the Doctor Strange universe could appear.

Premiere date: September 3, 2021.

The Eternals – Cinema

With one of the most expensive and diverse casts in Marvel history in theaters, The Eternals is another film that should have arrived in 2020, but ended up being pushed back until 2021 because of Covid-19. The plot will tell the story of a group of alien superheroes who were sent to Earth a long time ago. Separated, they grew and evolved with the different cultures of humanity. It promises to be unlike anything Marvel has done so far.

Premiere date: November 5, 2021.

Spider-Man 3 – Cinemas

Last week’s best meme will close Marvel’s 2021 in theaters. With many cast from old franchises confirmed over the past week, the international press claims the film will take a journey through the Marvel multiverse. Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige has confirmed the presence of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and said he will play an important role in the plot. Public expectation is the appearance of old Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. However, while we don’t have any studio announcements on this, we can only confirm that Tom Holland’s Spider will be in the movie.

Release date: December 16, 2021.
