1923, the first trailer for the Yellowstone spin-off

Streaming platform Paramount+ has premiered the first trailer for the Yellowstone, 1923 spin-off. Two successful faces will join the cast.

Yellowstone is a western / drama television series, broadcast since 2018, created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson which tells the story of the Dutton family, owners of one of the largest ranches in Montana in the United States.

Thanks also to an exceptional cast, such as Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly etc., the series was so successful that it was immediately created in parallel with the fifth season, a prequel spin-off, 1923.

Yellowstone gives way to 1923 for now

Yellowstone is now in its fifth season and Paramount+ has announced that it will be split into two parts. The first part, consisting of seven episodes, will end on December 18, 2022, making way for the broadcast of the first episode of the prequel spin-off, 1923. The broadcast of the first episode will coincide with the last episode of the first part of Yellowstone. To date, it is not yet known when the second installment of the television series will be broadcast.

From 1923 we know for the moment that the series will consist of two seasons, each of eight episodes each. The first episode of the first season will be broadcast on the Paramount+ streaming platform on Sunday, December 18.

Two main actors in 1923

1923, the spinoff series of Yellowstone prequel, will have two exceptional faces in its cast, we are talking about Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. The two actors will respectively play Jacob Dutton, head of the ranch and brother of James Dutton and his wife Cara Dutton. As the synopsis states, 1923 will see:

“Two generations of the Dutton family who struggled to survive historic drought, lawlessness and Prohibition and an epidemic of cattle rustling; all fought under the cloud of Montana’s Great Depression, which predated the nation by nearly a decade…”

What will 1923 be about?

The story will take place during the First World War and according to what is revealed in the trailer, this spin-off will tackle topics such as “pandemics, historic drought, the end of prohibition and the Great Depression which afflict all the mountains of the west”.

Less than a minute, but the official trailer released by Paramount+ in 1923 promises fans a truly thrilling season. What we’ve been able to figure out is that the writer’s goal is to recreate a genealogical lineage of prequels that coincide with the “present” of Yellowstone.

After the huge success of 1883, we will now see 1923 and in the future two more spin-offs set in the 1940s and 1960s respectively will follow.
