007 producer supports non-binary version of James Bond

Daniel Craig’s career as the first blond James Bond ended with the famous ‘007 – No Time to Die’. Since then, many have speculated on the future of the British spy in theaters – mainly due to Amazon’s takeover of MGM.

And amid past rumors that a woman might be the perfect fit for the role, producer Barbara Broccoli has returned to talk about the character’s future on the big screen.

And while she isn’t in favor of a female version of the spy, she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of featuring a non-binary 007 in future films in the franchise. During her appearance on the Girls on Film podcast, Broccolli brought up the subject:

“Who knows, I think it’s open, you know?” We just have to find the right actor.

Recalling that according to a recent survey by Variety, the production could lose more than 100 million US dollars to MGM and EON Productions, companies responsible for the feature film. This is due to both the project’s budget, estimated at $ 250 million, and the plentiful promotional material, which has also surpassed the $ 100 million mark due to constant delays (16 months, to be precise).

The information indicates that, so that the studios do not suffer a loss, the financial product should be around 900 million dollars. So far, ‘No Time to Die’ has hit the $ 734 million box office mark.
